The Ambassadors Northwest organization took an early tour at the developing Technology, Education and Collaboration (TEC) Hub the morning of Thursday June 14th. The Hub is expected to be complete and operational in the spring.

The vision for the new TEC Hub is to contribute to the development of a skilled, employment-ready technology and trades workforce for Northwestern Ontario. The extension of the McIntrye Building is a $19 million project for a 45,000 square foot space which will include three main concepts: industry skills and sustainability instruction, advanced manufacturing technology, and innovation and incubation.

Some of the current programs offered by the College in other facilities will be transferred to the new TEC hub, such as Aerospace Manufacturing. The new facility is set to provide pathways for skilled trades programming, specifically for Indigenous learners. All of this will lead to the ability to support more students through learning and will open the door for new programming to be developed. In the spaces provided by this facility there will many opportunities for collaboration. This will create an atmosphere for research and development, and personal project for different groups around the region.
